Conducting job interviews properly is not easy, and I stand by what I said earlier about leetcode interviews. Anyway, what one usually wants to achieve is to sample enough information to see if proceeding to another round (or in the final stage extending an offer) is a risk worth taking. For this I consider a proper conversation more helpful than checkbox-style knowledge questions. One pair of questions that I've recently read: Tell me about your favorite technology, Followed by: can you tell me in which ways it sucks? Never used it myself (as of yet), but I think it could be a good way to create a fruitful dialog in a technical interview.
