When we were a few years younger, my wife bought a bucket list book. It was the gesture that counts, we never filled more than the first few pages. As we have watched the partial solar eclipse together on the balcony with the kids this evening, I realized that we have got it backwards all these years. The book ought to be a journal of what we did, not a moonshot list of hypothetical projects, just those little things which we too much tend to take for granted. The camino can wait. By the time we might walk it, I hope the book is already filled. As for me, I am about to descend to the basement. I have to fill out a page.
